My love of photography began years ago in Los Angeles 27 years ago, when my parents bought me that first camera at the age of 15. Soon after finishing high school, I began working for Agoura Artist Studio, where I trained under Master Photographer Steven Beller, who taught me the ins and outs of wedding and portrait photography.
A few years later I trained under and became working partners with Master Photographer Anthony R. Hall. We became good friends. Anthony taught me the importance of “details, details, details” — both in my work and in my life. I attended specialized courses at UCLA and other colleges around the country, and received a broad horizon of photographic knowledge and experience from many great and creative minds. Anthony has been my best friend now for over 20 yrs.
In 1990, I opened Joel Moses Photography Studio in Woodland Hills, Calif., where I specialized in photography for the entertainment industry. My clients included professional actors, models, fashion designers and musicians. I also did portrait, wedding and commercial work. 1990 is the official year of the professional start date.
In 1995 I moved to Northern California and I relocated my studio to San Jose. I now specialize in wedding, portrait and commercial photography, and I offer complete high-end digital photography and video services. If you can dream it, we can help bring it to life. We now offer high end aerial drone photo and video services. Dynamic, compelling and just mind blowing!. Anything that you can imagine, from high rise, real estate,3D mapping and aerial footage in 4k for TV and Motion Picture.
Over the past several years, I have gained great life experience working with people of all kinds, from around the world. Photography has been my lifelong passion, a way to express my emotions and capture those of others. The best photographers possess strong technical skills as well as the ability to capture the beauty and design of a subject through the interplay of light and emotion — all within a decisive moment in time!
This is what photography means to me, and what I strive for. For me, life is a constant exploration of learning, expression and the ability to be open to the changing needs of my clients and the times we live in. Swell Vapes
Joel took commercial photographs onsite at our vape shop. He did an amazing job and our final Image that we used for our ad was shot from outside. It caught the sunset in the reflections, amazing colors in our store plus it showed our product off perfectly!..
Joel is the BEST in San Jose! He is very good with people, is professional, and takes wonderful photos! After loving Joel's energy and the work he did for an event for us back in September, I hired him again for our biggest semiconductor event of the year. This was the "Oscars" of the semiconductor industry and had over 1400 people in attendance. Joel brought his son Daniel and colleague Sarah and as a team they did a wonderful job capturing the event.
Community Towers Renovation
Joel and his team did a incredible job shooting photos of our restoration project. It was a large scope job that had many details to cover. He was great all the way to the ribbon cutting. We have used him a few times now and are always very happy with his end results.
Shot By Dad & Son
This SF High Rise image was shot by me from an adjacent roof top. I had to lean over a 13 story rooftop deck as my son Daniel Moses was holding on to me. I leaned over the edge and said son don't let go and took this shot. It was freezing cold but how amazing we felt to overcome those fears.
High Dynamic Range
Shown here is a home photographed in (HDR) High Dynamic Range. Copyright 2020 By Joel Moses,Photographer. We lit this home up with movie lights from all adjacent front view rooms to the exterior walls. I then climbed up on the roof of my Jeep Cherokee and did a long sunset time exposure combined with HDR.
Joel Moses did an amazing job for us shooting aerial photos of our new Levi Stadium. It was truly a pleasure working with him and we where all completely amazed at the Images he took with his drone. Loved all the varied angles and his ability to navigate between the fine lines of this job.
We are so excited about the work Joel and his assistant Angel did for us. Joel was very professional and accommodating with our children and our dog, all of whom were in our photo session. He took a moment just to make the dog comfortable around him. He used the natural color and architecture at various different spots at our selected venue to take unique and fun shots of my family. At the request of my children he even individual shots of our dog. It was all over quickly which is important with young kids and a pet! Our photos turned out wonderful! I would highly recommend Joel as a photographer for your family or special occasion.
Joel and his assistant Angel did a fantastic holiday photo shoot for us! Joel kindly accommodated us into to his full holiday schedule, and arrived early to the shoot. The pictures are absolutely beautiful, and he turned them around fast enough for us to incorporate into our Holiday card! We will treasure these photos for many years to come. I highly recommend Joel! He is professional, courteous, fun to work with, and he has an eye for producing amazing photos.
